Keyless Entry w/Bluetooth
I'm looking into replacing our motorhome OEM key lock with a Keyless lock.
Scanning the internet, I find multiple brands which offer the latest and greatest, and they may be. I recognize some locks will work better than others based on application and installation.
I am particularly interested in making the swap at present time because several manufacturers offer bluetooth integration. A key fob is certainly represents increased security and convenience, but you still need a key fob instead of a key.
With Bluetooth capability on your phone, that's all you need. Everyone has their cell phones with them at all times! I even hear some sleep with their phones next to their pillows.
I will appreciate any recommendations, pointers, potential pitfall alerts, and preferred retailers.
Our rig is a Pleasure Way Plateau with a standard Lippert door. The OEM lock door opening measures 7" vertiical, 4 1/2" horizontal.
Thank you for your consideration.

We bought a keypad style (also has a fob, why??) for our T/T. it works as required and all i have to do is walk up and punch a couple numbers and I'm in. when we leave it's a one touch and its locked. NO key fob, key or phone required simple and very effective.

I gave the fob to my daughter, and the other to my son - in case they needed to get into the trailer if they could not find me, or I was away without the RV from my long-term site.
Now for the OP
I'm sure someone makes one or will soon. One of my BIG problems with cell phones is all the work of changing to a new phone. My old one died in August. I lost about 40% of what I had on the phone. The data and photos were backed up to the cloud. But I lost my ringtones, many apps I used, etc.
Yes, I know I'm miles behind on the technology. I don't care what you do, and I'm not going learn.

I prefer the Bauer RV locks they offer both Bluetooth and non-Bluetooth models. We went with the non-Bluetooth model since all we need to do is used the keypad and enter 4 numbers to lock/unlock the entry lock. This is a very simple thing to do vs unlocking the phone and then opening the app and unlock the door, in my opinion.
We have no key fob since the number pad works great and is just as faster.
Another nice thing about Bauer products is you can change all of your bagged doors to a Keyed alike lock if you so desire.
I have had my Bauer lock for 5 years now and still works great just replacing the batteries every year.

Thanks for your input and recommendations; I just looked at RVLock's Atlas Keyless, (2nd generation). One of their models is compatible with our current lock (installation opening).
I don't think it offers Bluetooth, but otherwise looks current technology with integrated rechargeable batteries charged with an external source and USB mini plug.
thanks

I would than make sure you carry the (if available) auxiliary key to unlock the lock when you are away and come back. Murphy Law will apply if you don't.
With my Bauer lock I only change the 4-AA batteries once a season from April-1 to Oct 31. So, I don't see the need for rechargeable batteries, just my opinion.
I do carry a key with me when every we leave, I just don't want Murphy's law to apply when the door is locked.

we put the manual key in a magnetic hidden key box and put it on the frame.

I use a realtor lock box for my key. Loop it around a frame in the engine compartment.
