John:

I have recently replaced the Bilsteins on my rig with Koni's. I put the Koni FSD's on the front and my RV mechanic is installing the adjustable Koni's on the rears this week.

My rig had 46,000 miles so I am not sure the Bilsteins were worn out but I was having more side-to-side pitching than before. When I drove my rig to the shop this past Monday, I could definitely notice improvement in the handling and ride quality of the rig (just from the Koni's I had installed on the front). The ride is softer but handling seems improved. The coach seems to glide more softly over rough places in the road that would jar the rig previously with the Bilsteins.

At this point, I would say the ride is more civilized than before. I am anxious to see how the coach does with the rear Koni's installed.

Which Koni's did you put on the front? I thought I noticed that there are two different models??? I found 82-2553 Front and 82-2554 rear for a total of $392.00

Does that sound right???

Please keep me posted on how you like them after you get the rear's on. I am going to try and get my tires and shocks done by the end of March. I think I am going with the Michelin XPS Rib still up in the air on the shocks. This being my first MH I can't make my mind up.

Thanks

My Freightliner XC with rigid front axle takes the 8805-1020 Koni FSD. I got them directly from Koni and paid $150 per shock, free shipping.

John,
My guess, by the part number your rig takes, that those are the adjustable shocks and not the FSD's. I would suggest calling Justin at 866-566-4175 which is konirv in Kentucky. Ask him if they will be coming out with the FSD's and when and does he think you should wait till they are available.
