KVH antenna is coming off.

After spending a tidy sum 5 years ago to have a KVH model R6 installed, I'm taking it off.
Dish network will no longer operate on the satellite antenna without having an expensive "patch" installed. Closest dealer to me is 97 miles away. Plus even after it is done I will only be able to receive SAT 119.

I ordered a new Winegard Trav'ler today and it gets installed next week. No more hassles, I hope.

I'd like to know what others with this dome antenna are doing.

Got rid of my dome about three years ago. I got a Tripod and a DTV dish with about 100 ft. of cable. I don't have to worry about parking under trees. Setting up the satellite takes about fifteen minutes. The whole setup cost about $100-. I also picked up a used Birddog satellite meter on eBay for $60-.

Do not have a KVH but had a Wineguard Dome affected by the Dish change.
Also replaced with a Travelr this past spring. Much simpler and better for automatic operation.

I still use my KVH dome for DTV SD service on sat 101. I'm told the geniuses at DTV are planning to kill sat 101 in a few years and force us all to HD.
