All , I’m currently at my RV park in Florida but need to go north for a few months. I’ve been told to leave my ac on maybe set to 80 or so to pull out humidity and to avoid mold amid mildew.
Sounds logical to me, any thoughts!

I know a few folks who do that at a RV park in Miami.
They leave the RV on site all year and go north for 6 to 9 months, leaving the AC on.

I understand this is common practice.

However, I would leave the A/C on only if I had someone I trusted to look into the coach on a regular basis and make sure everything was working as expected.

Leave it on in my house for months at a time when away. Why not do it in rv. I see no problem. Safe travels

I would be concerned of a storm coming in and doing damage. there have been alot this year.

Another idea is to use a dehumidifier with a drain to the outside, instead of the air conditioner. The air conditioner if set at 80 degrees will only reduce the humidity if it is actually running.

NOTE: if you do use a dehumidifier, don't set it to drain to the sink or shower etc. unless that tank drain valve is left open. The dehumidifer can put out 3+- Gallons of water per hour and that can fill a gray tank.

We've been Florida residents for 43 years and don't think humidity is much of a concern during the November-March time frame, but I would still suggest some ventilation at the very least. If you don't mind the electricity cost, leaving the a/c on is fine. There will be plenty of 80+ days where the a/c runs and, if the RV is parked in the sun, it will heat up inside to 80+ much of the day.

A dehumidifier is a good solution if you have a way to drain it, e.g. the RV is hooked to a sewer so the gray drain can be left open. However, it should be sufficient to leave a ceiling vent fan on and a window or two open a crack, so that fresh air can move thru. Our coach always sat in our yard during fall & winter and we never ran the a/c - just kept some windows open.

We leave our A/C and heat set to 80 degrees in the summer and 50 degrees in the winter when we aren't using the MH.

I would be concerned that if the condensation drain clogged, all that water would enter the rv for months. I would only do it if someone checked on it periodically.
