LED lights under RV
Somebody told me to put LED lights under my motorhome to prevent rodents from getting in my RV.
Does this work? It kind of makes sense because the rodent wouldn't want their predators to see them in the light, right?

Does it stop them from moving in the daytime?

Welcome to the forum.
What can it hurt? I do believe that some things people claim will probably not work. But do it and please report back.

You have to get the kind that flash and change color for maximum protection.

What'll it hurt? If light repel one, that's one you won't have inside. If that ones pregnant, that's many you won't have.

Make sure they are super bright and annoy all the other campers in the area.

Spit coffee on that one.
I leave polite notes on windshields now and then.

My Kodiak Cub came with LED lights underneath. I have never seen signs of rodents inside. It must be working.
Of course I have never turned those lights "ON" except to test them.

Lights won't help keep rodents out. They're nocturnal to avoid predators, not lights. What you need is cats with freakin' lasers on their heads.
On the other hand, LEDs will make your rig look nicer, easier to distinguish it when you're coming home at night, and provide lighting when you get there.
Good luck

Not sure about repelling rodents but outside LEDs on RVs is getting out of control--campgrounds look like the circus has come to town. They may or may not repel rodents, but they may repel your neighbors. I have then, dont use them.

I have them under my rig and they seem to help repel rodents of all kinds. I also have a security camera on my rig that let me see the bigger ones that walk on two legs. The lights IMO are a preference some like them, some don't. Mine are under my rig and are not as bright as most out there. They are defiantly not as bright as the ones on the front of my rig.

Lights won't do a thing. With a motion sensor there might be some small impact initially, but the vermin will get used to it real quick.
Barn or feral cats are the answer. Right now we've got 3 that we know of. Yellow striped Sparkey, grey tabby Ollie and all-black Satan. We fill the food dish in the barn every afternoon with hopes the cats get to it before the skunks and coons come out.

I disagree, LED lights do not automatically make your rig nicer. They're ok when used in moderation but lighting up a rig to resemble an airport is an annoyance for most camping nearby.
As for as using lights to repel rodents, I guess it may depend on where the RV is parked and what critters live there. Our motorhome stores on our property down here in SE Texas. Woods and a pond about 100 feet from the non-enclosed RV port, a prime area for mice, rats, squirrels, opossum, racoons, snakes, etc,,,. Been storing here for over 22 years without using any kind of a light and, knocking on wood, have never had a issue.

Don't have them and won't buy them. It is getting ridiculous the number of people that feel they have to light up the entire campground though.
Maybe downlights underneath, but why hundreds encircling their site, especially all night. Same with obnoxious nose lights.
