So aside from having the cops come to an accident one may have had with their RV ... has anyone had a LEO pull you over for....

... a hair too late when the light changed to red in a left turn while driving a GF's class B in an unfamiliar town.
Got a warning.

This occured many years ago ........

Driving to Eastern Washington for a long weekend fishing trip with a couple buddies driving their rigs .

I had my Dodge 2500 V10 with camper on the back pulling my 21' Bass Boat .

I bet my buddies they couldn't keep up to my Dodge with their Ford and Chevy pickups pulling their boats .

That was my first mistake .....

Coming out of Vantage at the Columbia River we started up a 10mi. 7% grade .

Then I made my second mistake ..... I dropped the hammer and started pulling away .

About 6mi. up the road I was doing 95 mph and still accelerating when I passed a State Trooper going the other way .

A glance in my rearview mirror confirmed the officer had noticed . He had locked up all 4 wheels as did a high speed 180° turn .

By then I had gone around the next curve and decided to stop and wait for him to catch up . I pulled onto the shoulder as he came ripping around the curve and saw me stopped . He had to dynamite his brakes to get stopped and pulled in behind me .

The Officer walked up the road centerline and looked at the boat , the camper and the truck , and from the center of the road asked if I knew how fast I had that rig going uphill .

I said , yes , you caught me fair and square , that's why I pulled over .

He had me doing 95mph in a 55mph zone.

He asked for my license and insurance and went back to his squad car .

He was only gone about 5min. and as he walked back to my truck , my 2 buddies went by and beeped as they passed .

He wrote me up for 9mph over . Had me sign the ticket and turned and went back to his car , turned around and continued down the hill .

The Officer never said to slowdown or be careful !

The whole episode took less than 10min. . The experience has given me the lifetime of grief I now live with from my two buddies .

I considered myself lucky , not for the 9mph over ticket , but that he caught me when he did . I was still accelerating when he saw me ,1/2 mile later I would have been doing 100+.

We had truck drop some load in front of use and damaged the engine. A trooper came out, issued the truck driver a citation, filled out the forms and went on his way. Later a sheriff stopped as we were still on the shoulder. He offered to call us a tow, but we declined as supposedly Good Sam ERS was supposed to be on the way.....ha ha ha. FIVE hours to get the tow truck there.

LEOs were very nice. Otherwise, no issues with LEOs. We watch the speed limits and drive safely.

One time somewhere back eastern states an LEO pulled up alongside me and motioned to slow down

I was doing 62 in a 55 zone.

Then he waved and went on down the road.

Only interaction with an LEO while towing anything for decades

Motorcycle...........now that's a different story

Why wasn't one of the choices......"Law Enforcement stopped to help me". It feels like you're looking for accounts of issues with law enforcement.

Only once....Had a blowout on Front Passenger side of my 38 DP . NY Thruway State Officer. Stopped and asked if we were ok and took off! Tire repair came in 20 minutes and changed tire.

Somewhere in MO, 3:00am, cop pulled me over. Said my taillight had flickered, but eventually admitted he wanted to see the Honda PCX I had on a hitch ramp.

Nice guy, sort of embarrassed (and probably rightly) but we had a good conversation and then parted.

Other than a large collection of "paper" as a punk kid with a 340 Duster in 1971 I've had nothing but positive interactions with law enforcement. I think it's the white hair, the still hot wife, and the cute dogs.

Once coming out of California an LEO waved me down to let me know the road ahead was closed due to snow. He then helped me get my dad's rig turned around.

Never been pulled over while pulling my rig.

If they were to, the only thing they could cite me for is driving too slow.

I have been pulled over many, many times in my '66 Mustang conv. for speeding.
Never got a ticket. LEO would always start asking me about the car. .......having a nice looking blonde with me didn't hurt.

After 911 border patrol was stopping everyone on US Rt 11, New York's "Rooftop Hiway". Asked "Are you carrying anything you shouldn't".
