Levelers instead of jack.....

Hello all,

I was prepared to go to the local store and grab a floor jack to raise the front of my 30' HR Admiral MH. But, I was wondering, can I use the front hydraulic levelers to raise the front end enough to slide jack stands under the axles and then slightly lower the levelers? I wouldn't count on them to hold the MH elevated, just to be able to get stands under the frame.
Thanks for the help, and happy trails...

Yes you can.

All jacks have warnings not to go under a RV while lifted only by them but what your proposing is fine.

If the leveling jacks are rated for more weight than the weight of the axle being lifted then no problem. I put my '02 DSDP on the jacks with the front tires completely off the ground for six months at a time during winter storage for 13 winters.

I do that all the time--to service (lube, oil, filter, etc.) and to remove front wheels and pack bearings, replace brake pads, etc. I usually have jack stands in place also but may at times remove them if they're in the way for a short period.

I do this with mine.. Remember, with the rear wheels off the ground, you probably don't have a parking brake so chock the front wheels.
