Light won't turn off

The courtesy or map light in my MH stays on all the time. I had to remove the bulbs to get it off. I'm thinking bad switch but not sure. Any ideas? Tried taking the switch out but no luck and after looking at it, I'm not sure I could find a replacememt that would fit and be able to secure it. The present switch has some squeeze thingys to hold it in but they don't compress enough for me to remove it.

Mine is actually controlled by the dimmer switch on the dash rather than the on/off switch on the light...

That's what I was thinking as well. Back in the day, you used to turn the headlight switch to control how bright the lights in the instrument cluster were, and when you went past full bright, the dome light would come on if the door was open or not...

That's a possiblity, but why have a switch on the light if it's controlled by the dash light /headlight switch?

I have wall switches that control my ceiling lights, each of which have a switch of their own as well? Betting you do as well?

If I'm right, that O/H light will go out when the instrument lights fuse is pulled.

Are you saying that you removed the courtesy map light switch and wires BUT the light remained ON?

If so , you have some gremlins running around in your coach.

I would vote for a bad switch.

Both our overhead lights have switches but are controlled by the light switch being turned to the old "dome light" setting.
