Lights in the coach !
Here’s one... we’ve got an electrical problem in our ‘03 Holiday Rambler that’s got me scratching my head.
The other day CiCi tells me from inside that there’s no lights. Fast forward and I find the battery cutoff switch isn’t actuating the solenoid that’s part of the 12 volt system for the house. Normally you hit that battery cutoff switch, that drops the solenoid down below and the lights go out. Too easy. Now though, there’s a 5A fuse on that solenoid that blows if that switch is used. Disconnected all in-house fuses - same result. Tried bypassing that switch as I thought it may be sketchy - same result.
Any thoughts ?

The 5 amp fuse is for the solenoid. The electromagetic coil is probably shorted out.
Disconnect one of the small wires, on that solenoid, and see if the fuse holds. If it does, replace the solenoid.
Here is how its wired. The red mark is where the fuse powers the circuit.

Update...
Sorry, I should have added...
I do have DC lights down in the basement so the prob isn’t a total “no 12V anywhere” thing

Thanks ! Do you have an ecopy of that service manual you could share ? I got Monaco to send me what they had for wiring diagrams but they’re tricky to read as the print is super-blurry

If the PDF copy is blurry try hitting the CTRL 5 at the same time. On my PDF's it clears up the print to be able to read. On my chassis diagram I have to zoom in ~800% or more to read it.
A lot of people just jumper the salesman switch as it has a high rate of failure. Just take both leads and bolt together.

That’s interesting. The switch has 2 white leads (top & bottom) and a purple wire in the middle. 13.5V from the purple to either white. Are you saying connect the 2 white ? Connecting the purple to either pops the fuse

What's suggested is to jumper the 2 heavy wires together.
The purple wire is a signal wire.
Take a picture of the solenoid and post it. That will help us ID which wires.

To make this just a bit more clear. What's being jumpered is not actually the switch, it's the solenoid that the switch activates.

He is talking about jumping the 2 large wires together. Large wires are the battery positive leads. Don't know why they are white unless they are switching the ground. Are your battery grounds white? Battery grounds would not be fused. Small wire is the control circuit. Different fuse.
Sounds like they are switching the ground because you are blowing the control circuit fuse.

It would be nice if you explained to use what you did to fix the problem and if in fact the white wires were negative wires. Was the solenoid bad?

Sure, I bypassed the solenoid. Bolted the two positives together as suggested and we’re all set. No more “salesman switch”, no more problem. White wire issue was that I was thinking to jump out the switch (which didn’t happen)
Thanks again
