Link to Cheap Gas

Below is a link to GasBuddy.com. I have got the app on my Blackberry and on my iPad. I saved $0.11 per litre by finding a gas war sale. That worked out to about $11.00 on my fill for my pickup.

I plan on using this when I need to fill up my RV before a trip. It's good for US and Canada.

If you have an iPhone, iPad, Blackberry or any other device that uses apps, I'd suggest searching for the app and downloading it.

Thought I would share with my good friends out there.

Been using it since last summer. It's always been "spot on". On longer trips I'll look ahead to next the cheaper gas and aim to fill up there. I have not downloaded the app yet on my IPhone....will have to do that...soon

Unless there was a 4 cent increase in 2 hours at the Flying J on 67th ave, it's wrong. It shows regular at $3.83 and with out the 2 cent discount with my rewards card, it was $3.79/gal.

I can't vouch for every gas station in North America, I can just pass on a good thing when I think I've found it.

I think in some cases it asks people to report price and may have been given wrong info.

Gasbuddy is 100% user supported. When using the app, you have to note the time of the last reported price. Sometimes it's 2 hrs and somtimes 2 days.

If you report x amont of prices @ day, you can win free gas. I suspect some folks just sit at home and report prices they are not sure of.

I've always found Gas Buddy to be a great app as others have said. One thing you can do in the settings is make it default to whatever type of fuel you use, diesel, regular, or premium.

I just returned from a trip from So. Cal to Key West and back and Gas Buddy saved me a bunch. For example, Loves and Flying J were $4.29 and I found $3.77 at a local station in Tuscon, AZ.
None of the truck stop places were even close on price. I have my Flying F card and never was able to use it because they were so over priced. I have also found that the independents are easier to get in and out than the Flying F's, Love's etc because of the people tying up the pumps getting hotdogs and stuff. Another consideration was that I could get the same price wether cash or credit and use my credit card that gave me back another 5%.

When I looked at the price at "J", it was reported 11 hours ago. Almost the same time I was there. If the person reporting it used their discount card, it was 6 cents higher than when I was there. I had to go inside to pre-pay for propane and there were only two other vehicles at the 12 pumps in the non-truck lanes.

clyon51, you might be right. A lot of other stations also showed the same price. I didn't notice who reported them though.

Just checked again and it is down 4 cents by another poster.

Gas Buddy does work well for us. It would be the best app ever if they allowed users to enter both cash and credit card prices. We have found that often is the unknown factor when deciding on where to stop and causes discrepancies in most cases. Since users enter the info, it is up to each user to report the price they choose (cash or credit).

We did find a gas war in Dayton last Spring that allowed us to save 15 cents a gallon. It doesn't hurt to have the info, IMHO.

Happy travels!
