Look up when backing into your site
A few days ago while backing a motorhome into a campground site, a good reminder the spotter needs to
look UP! Fortunately, by an inch or two, no contact except a few leaves. Fortunate!
Campground staff already notified the large branch needs to be cut off to allow medium to large RVs in that site.

No problem, plenty of room! Haha
It is easy to forget to look up. Thanks for the good reminder.

And look down too. Sharon is pretty good at looking up for tree branches, but one time she was walking backwards directing me into a particularly difficult spot when she fell over a curb stop. At her age, she doesn't need to be falling down!

I always thought it would be a good idea to have bumper sensors (like on cars) across the top, sides and bumper of larger RV's (especially the larger ones).
I think we've all been you have been! LOL!
Safe travels,
Mark

Yep, look up. DW is my spotter. Back in early 60's when she was very young her dad had a new holiday rambler camper. He was backing into a site and her older sister was the spotter.
You know what hapened next. Until mid 1977 he lived with the dent. Her dad would say watch out for limbs every time they backed into a CS. DW is alway checking for limbs. She is so bad with any branches, that I bought a teloscoping poll and make it with our height plus 6"

I carry a pole trimmer and had pruners....I ask the park to trim first and if they don't have an issue, I do the trimming.

I rarely have a spotter when pulling in to a site. Even when I do have a spotter *I* always walk the site and I place orange cones near anything I need to miss when backing in, that includes looking up for low branches. If I miss the cone I miss the (whatever), nice and easy.

I've learned that once in the site and comfortable, the winds will come in and let me know the true clearance to branches....

+1
I always walk the spot and then tell my wife where I want to be.
