Somebody should ask him about the those cities that ban overnight parking on Wal-Marts privately owned parking lots. Do they really have the law on their side to be able to do that?

Oh Dave, lighten up. Its just a story about another rver that happens to be a supreme court justice. I think its neat to know they have a life too. What did you think, he sits around reading law books all day.

Are you asking why the story was written or why I posted it on this thread?
I can't answer the first question. I posted it simply because a United States Supreme Court Justice is probably one of the last people I'd expect to see parked on a Wal-Mart lot.
If you don't think the story or the thread is of any interest, I apologize for wasting your time. Maybe you'll like the next thread you click on.

I don't think he (DandS) meant newsworthy here at iRV2, i think he meant newsworthy on a national level, ie... in the article that was posted from the newspaper.
It not only is newsworthy here at iRV2 but it is also down right interesting.
For one thing, my opinion of the Justice has changed from perhaps one of him being a sheltered gentleman to one of him being a bit more rugged, or at least adventuresome, feller.
And it gives some more credance to the Wallycampers, something which I have never really tried.
Good thread.
Future wally-greeter, Mike

Wow - the hostility comes out for a simple comment. I only wondered why a major news network found this story worth publishing. Guess I can't have an opinion ?

DandS ... why it is noteworthy on a national level could perhaps be based upon a slice of history from even this forum here .... perhaps THE most rumbunctious thread here over the years has been one of three:
- camping at Wally-World - Do you do it ?
- Do you pack guns while camping (even while in your own driveway ) ?
- Is it alright to drive down the road with your fridge running on propane ?
Those sorts of thread seem to run for months with 100's of circulous answers and arguements ....
So that Rusty found a national take on the most interesting of those three is pretty cool for the restless natives here.
If its interesting to us nitwits, maybe its interesting to lots more other nitwits.

Mike,
I wonder if he carries a gun in his "mobile home" and runs his fridge on propane while traveling? Heck, does he run his slides and awning out and set up his outdoor chairs and tables at Wal-Mart? Hmmmm.....

Gosh, Jerry, I was pretty proud there for a minute. I thought we had managed to get just about all the hot-button topics in one thread - I couldn't figure out how to turn it into a weight thread, though!
