With all these wonderfull photos, as a newby here couldn't resist adding some of my own. Taking pictures through the windshield while rolling along has been a hobby for a while with me. Not all were taken while rolling in an RV. For example this is shot thru the windshield of my restored 1963 VW bus a few years back while on a trip from Whidbey Island down to San Diego to visit my old ship
USS Midway wich is now a naval aviation museum on the waterfront there. This is heading north across the Golden Gate bridge.

Here is a view through the windshield I'll bet not many here have seen. Shot this
around 2004 just before returning to the states after working civil service in Japan. A retired navy man I spent almost 24 years there with combined military and civil service time. Hiways there can be quite scenic but in the Tokyo / Yokohama area their very congested. Even with english hiway signs you gotta be quick sometimes to spot where you want to go. And keep in mind with the wheel on the right hand side, your on the left hand side of the road. Except when on a freeway as I am here. Winnebago sells small RV's in Japan. Fun to see 'em with everything opposite from what we're used to in the states. On this particular road I was heading for the Naval station at Yokosuka from my assigned base at Atsugi. Atsugi is sited about 35 miles south east of Tokyo.

Here's my '63 15 window VW bus at a tent campng spot. We've owned this guy for 20 years this year. Rolled it all over the west coast and into the mid west.
A lot more room in our Winnebago Trend, but a lot more class with the "bus".

Thanks to all of you for the photos and comments
What a pleasure that was! I sat here and looked at every posting on all 26 pages and was sorry to reach the last post from earlier this evening.
Thanks to all. It was a wonderful reminder of this beautiful country we live in.

I know that area well. I worked at the Izusu Fujisawa plant for a while and they were in the glide path for the Atsugi base. Jets in and out overhead all day. Except for Sept 12, they went out in the morning, but didn't come back that afternoon.
