Looking for advice on Tampa rv show 23
Please help, I’m looking to go to the Tampa rv show in Jan 23. Can’t seem to find any where to stay in our class c . Don’t mind a short drive to attend. We are new to this ( purchased coach in aug 22) . Nothing comes up at all on google or bing. I’d rather not stay in a hotel if possible. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have you considered staying on the show grounds?

Here is another "campground" review site, which may help find you a camp site......

Good luck,

Most all RV parks in the Tampa area will be full. Most all RV parks in Florida will be full in the winter.
Staying on the grounds is an option as long as you don't mind dry camping. Otherwise, you'll need to expand your search area until something pops up.

Camping at the fairgrounds is the most convenient way to attend the show.

I've read several posts on another forum (RVillage) that available sites for boondocking on the fairgrounds is sold out. Someone checked and said that sites are available at the Hillsborough County Fair grounds. The contact # for info on the Tampa RV show is (813) 621-7821. I just googled the Hillsborough County Fair and found this number: (813) 737-3247
Closer in to the RV show is Lazy Days in Seffner. I don't know if they have any availability. https://www.googleadservices.com/pag...J8Q0Qx6BAgKEAE
We will be staying on the grounds for the duration of the show, in with the Newmar Owner's Rally. The Newmar area is a different location on the grounds. We registered and reserved for this about 3 or 4 months ago.

Thanks for the suggestions. The fairgrounds are all sold out. I have expanded my search to areas within 100 miles. So far no luck. I’ll keep looking. I know that I probably waited too late. My fault, new to this. Please keep the suggestions coming. Thanks.

You nailed it. Next year start out in summer looking for places to stay. A 1 or 2 night stay in a hotel should sound pretty good to you right now.

My understanding was that various manufacturers offer reserve ahead sites but that dry camping is available first come first served. Therefore they should not be sold out.
Is this accurate? And if interested in dry camping on the grounds, how early to arrive on the first day if it is indeed first come first served?

For Florida in Jan-Feb-March many places open up the next year's spots between January and April. I'd bet most give current customers the right of first refusal so they can make their reservations for the next year and whatever is left over, plus any cancellations, is then opened to the public.
The further north you search and the further inland you search the higher the chance you'll find something.
Don't just look online, especially for the non-chain places. CALL and you usually can get on a wait list or find a spot.
We've driven from Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort in Crystal River and driven to the Tampa RV Show.
Good luck,
Ray

Yes just head into the parking lanes. It is fun to see all probably hundreds of rigs in the parking lot. Many staying for a night or two.

Try searching rv parks in Bushnell Florida. Right off of I75 and there are at least 4 rv parks there. My preference is shady oaks.
