Looking to purchase a 2004 Mandalay

We are looking to Purchase a 2004 Mandalay 40B. Can anyone tell me if there have been any Issues with this Motorhome that I should be looking for? I have a 2001 Newmar Dutchstar right now. (That I will Miss but want to get the Deisel engine.) Any help will be appreciated.

Have you considered staying with a Newmar, or other higher end builder? That would be my recommendation.

I believe the 2004 - 2005 Mandalays had a problem with excessive flexing in the front cap that would allow the two piece windshields to shift and, in some cases, pop out.

My understanding is the fix, known as the "halo modification", involved placing a rigid frame around the windshield area, which was covered under warranty for quite a few years.

I don't know if you're buying from a dealer or private party, but I believe if you called Thor with the serial number of the coach you are interested in they can tell you if the modification has been made.
