Love Bugs

It's the time of year for love bugs in central Florida. How do you remove them from your windows and RV body? I've seen a lot of approaches but am interested in an RVer's solution.

Dryer sheets and a little water works wonders for me, especially on the front cap. Added benefit is that your hands smell so nice after you are done!

Love bugs, etc.......

The best thing that I have found is Sprayway Glass Cleaner. It's an aerosol foam type spray.

I clean the whole front of our coach every evening when traveling as I don't want the bugs to stay on too long.

You can find the spray at most stores including Walmart, Costco, etc. I keep 4-6 cans at all times in the coach. I swear by this stuff!

On another site, the same question was asked and there were many, many antidotes and all seem to require moisture to soften the bugs. I have a plastic coating on the front that I don't want to scratch and the Sprayway is an excellent glass cleaner too.

Safe travels!
Mark

Use Rejex on the front before traveling and they will wash right off!

X3 on dryer sheets.

If my wax is fairly recent they wash off pretty easy with just a sponge.

When I need the dryer sheets I know its time to call the detail guy to wash and wax. I absolutely wears me out to watch him and his crew wrk that hard. Usually need a nap to recover

Take some 4/0 steel wool and polish the windshield. Apply 2 to 3 coats of FX-1 or Rain-X. I spray the front of my coach down with WD-40. I have an onboard hose in the front compartment, so I wash it down when I park. I have used WD-40 on all the vehicles that I have owned, Dodge truck, My Jeeps, Cadillac, Intrepids, and Chevys.

I bought a can of Sprayway Glass Cleaner for the windshield and it worked great. I'm sure the other suggestions work as well. My wife bought some dryer sheets and I'll try that next time.

What product from Rejex are you using that you spray on before traveling?

The high gloss finish? The quick detail spray?

Love bugs are as far north as Charleston SC now. Got some on our Windshield traveling to and from this week. I washed them off with some generic car wash, Microfiber mitt and effort. You have to remove them or you can get paint damage.
