I have a 1.25 Badger disposal and a 1 hp trash pump connected to 1 inch PVC to overcome a 4 foot rise over a short distance at home. Works great and really isn't that loud.

We have a Shurflo macerator

We had ours replaced last year along with the two gate valves.

Apparently, they don't last forever and since we have a unit with a built-in hose that just coils out and back into a channel that is only 1 1/2 inches in diameter, the macerator works fine. Plus, we have a small Sprinter van with small tanks.

Dumping the tanks is dead easy on our rig, one of the nicest maintenance feature, I just pull up whip out the hose and it's done fast.

I think the only thing you need to be concerned about is the size of the pump and if it's compatible with your setup.

Don't be too concerned with which one will last longer, eventually, they're all going to need to be replaced, just enjoy your rig.

Ive only used flow jet. im happy with it, has storage case but not large enough to store cables to battery and the remote. I bought a clear short sight pipe, I recommend that, easier than walking to see the discharge end. Has a back flush, but be careful I used it while trying to dilute discharge, and blew several fuses before I stoped and thought about what I was doing.

Macerators--Remco or Flojet? Or others?

I modified a Thetford Sanicon Turbo 300 using Banjo fittings to store the hose and pump separately and installed a trolling motor plug wired to the house battery for power. The pump attaches to the std 3” sewer outletClick image for larger version

That seems really inconvenient to me every time you want to use the pump? Then you have to remove it, store it somewhere, it's from the "black tank"

Mine is permanently attached to my RV.

I figure it's good for about 5 to 8 years, just had my original pump replaced and it was 8 years old.
