medical center w/rv parking
Thought that a discussion of medical centers that offer facilities for rv's might be enlightening. We live in SW Wa. state and one of the nicest hospitals that has rv parking is Saint Peters Medical Center in Olympia. My wife is going into U of W for surgery soon but there is nothing close by for an rv.
Any other hospitals that you know of?

RE: medical center w/rv parking
This isn't in Washington, but it is a hospital/medical center that has rv parking. It's in Springfield, OR at Sacred Heart Medical Center @ River Bend, part of the Peace Health network. They have appx 10 spots with up to 50 amp connections that can be used during times of stays for free. You just have to check in with security and they give you a marker to put in your window to show you are cleared to stay there and for how long. Located a little bit off of I-5 and Randy/Beltline exit.

That is a great thing, I wonder how many other hospitals do that?

There are many postive things about having your rv at the hospital when a member of your family has to have treatment or surgery.
Able to spend more time in the patients room being an advocate.
Able to take pet.
Hospital staff will take the patient to rv when it comes time for discharge.
Don't have to drive home after stressful day.
Make late night check on patient.
Fix your own meals.

Most hospitals have somewhere that they will let you park your RV. Just call the main number and ask for security. They will let you know where you can park and for how long. They always have someplace. It is pretty common.
I have also gone on Google Earth and looked around the hospital. You will see at least one parking lot with a couple of RV's in it.

Duke U Hospital had room for 5 RVs on ground level behind their parking garage. No hookups but by using their facilities, carrying several gallon bottles of water out each visit, and a 5 gallon can of gasoline every three days we were able to stay for a week. $2/day 6 years ago. Generator ran 24/7 because of the summer temperatures.

My SIL had to be in or within 20 mins. of UW hospital last summer for 3 mos. for cancer treatment. They stayed Here. It is about 12 miles. It’s not at the hospital but the closest they could find. We wish your DW and you the best during this difficult time.

I think the University of Wisconsin Hospital, Madison, WI has six 50 amp spots for rv's in one of their parking lots. I think lot number 60. It is a little ways to walk but they have a shuttle that runs I think every 15 min.
Seems to me that in the past 5 years there is now a camp ground by the airport in Rochester, MN. where you can stay and there is also shuttle rides to Mayo. I moved from Rochester about that time and seem to remember this but one would want to check to make sure.

We have stayed at this rv park near I-90. Seattle is a tough place to find rv parks that are close in. We now use the Burien Elks lodge. We have parked in the U of W football parking lot with the MH but it has no hookups and it is very difficult to navigate thru the curbing they have for traffic control.
FWIW, There is park out in Bothell. Lake Pleasant RV Park

Medical Center Hospital in Odessa Texas has four free electric and water RV spaces at 3rd and Dotsy. The area is patrolled by hospital security.

Interesting topic to say the least......
Our first year of retirement, purchased our first MH and went to Florida for the winter. Were in the Deland Fl area when wife developed intestinal problems. Long story short, she had 12" of her small intestine removed and was in the hospital for 16 days. Me, I stayed in the MH in the parking lot for 16 days. We were the talk of the hospital and they went out of their way to make our very stressful stay as comfortable as possible. When we got back home, that summer I traded the MH in as I could not see myself staying in it again!
Hoping we, and no one else has to go thru this type of situation, ever!!
