MH height on Turnpike

I have a Coach House Platinum 272xl and want to carry a kayak vertically on the back. I plan on a trip in January from CT. of the Keys what is a safe height for overpasses? Semi Trailers are set at 13.6' would a total height on the MH be a safe choice ?

13.6 is the maximum for a reason. Don't know the route you're planning but can tell you my antennas drag on the ceiling of the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel. Those are 14.6 high.

I found this on Wikipedia. It is the vertical clearances for interstate highways.

Vertical clearance: The minimum vertical clearance under overhead structures, such as bridges, is 16 feet (4.9 m), including both paved shoulders and an allowance for extra layers of pavement. Through urban areas, at least one routing is to have 16-foot (4.9 m) clearances, but others may have a lesser clearance of 14 feet (4.3 m). Sign supports and pedestrian overpasses must be at least 17 feet (5.2 m) above the road, except on urban routes with lesser clearance, where they should be at least 1 foot (30 cm) higher than other objects. The cross bracing of truss bridges has a special additional clearance requirement of 17.5 feet (5.3 m).

The height of a bridge clearance may be lane dependent, e.g.- several older arch bridges within a half mile of Bronco's stadium on I-25 through Denver have clearances in the outer lanes as low as 12'5". Road signs just prior to the first bridge advise trucks to use the middle two lanes.[emoji44]

If a Turnpike is not labeled as an Interstate, be careful. There are several in the northeast that are height limited due to old low overpasses. From Virginia south, the only "LOW" Overpass that I know of is between exits 65 and 75.
From a guide- North Carolina-
Bridges over I-95 between Exit 65 and after Exit 75 have 14'2" height clearances, and thus are considered to be low for most modern truck drivers, therefore requiring detours at every interchange in the vicinity.

At least get a copy of the Rand McNally Motor Carriers' Road Atlas. In the front is a section listing Low Clearance Locations state by state.
