Mini electric fence to keep mice out
I had problems with mice getting into our MH while parked in a machine shed. The solution was to make a electric fence to keep the mice out. If you Google mini electric fence for mice you will see how I made it. It was written up in Farm Show magazine. I never had any problems after making the fence it kills them right in the spot where they touch the fence.

Cats too? Squirrels? Seems like the by-catch might be a problem.

OP might post a sign " Cat's be Ware " :>) Pretty elaborate method to stop mice,, . My son erected an electric fence around his christmas tree to keep his dog away, was low voltage, about 5000 volts. Dog caught on quickly. I used a barbecue clicker to keep squirrels off my bird feeders, ran wire out my sun room window and up to the feeder , sat and watched for the critter to get into feeding and then I hit the clicker,,, this was a grey squirrel that turned into a FLYING SQUIRREL,, the crazy thing was he kept coming back for another shock of his life.
Getting back to the subject, ya, it would be a bad thing for domestic animals.

Yhuuup.. I remember those very well, getting zapped by the single wire that my Grandpa had to keep his pigs out of the crops. Ever since then I preferred infield baseball positions, no more outfielder positions for me.

I guess squirrels could jump over the fence, but if a dog hit it I think they will learn pretty fast and not get close again. It also killed several crickets and a couple of frogs. Also if a child touched it it would hurt them but not severely.

A home made mouse pail trap would be a cheaper option. If you used antifreeze or waste motor oil, it won't freeze during the winter.

I have not googled yet, most electric fences are high voltage low amps like milli amps, and pulse. Might be enough to kill a Mouse, if they touched at right time.

The pulse rate must have been right because I had up to 3 mice dead at a time. I didn't live where the shed was so it might be a week or more before I would check it. There are different elec. fencers that put out different amounts of shock.

Small fence chargers are supposedly for like 10 miles of good wire and loss of touching thousand of insulators. So just 200' of wire is going to juice ya real good.
