Three Mods + Pictures

Thanks to so many of you for the picture posting help. I'll try to make the pics worth your while.

1. the drop leaf table next to the kitchen counter worked out great. I will say that the edge of the countertop to which the drop leaf piano hinge is attached is a composite paper product. I glued a strip of oak, cut from the same butcherblock table that the drop leaf and roll around table tops are made of, in between the edging and the side of the cabinet. The piano hinge screws go through the edge, oak filler and through the cabinet into the backing on the inside wall. Elephant proof.

2. In Eastern Europe, where unemployment can be 25%, breaking & entering is a killer, all motorhomes use a handrail that doubles as an extra (singularly better then the motorhomes doorlocks) security lock. I could find the swing aside entry handrail but had to mount my own "U" shaped aluminium channel and then drill through both to put through the long shank pad lock.

3. Again, from my experiences in Africa and Eastern Europe, I chose to put padlocks on my basement doors. 99% of B&E is a smash and grab target of opportunity. Breaking into a motor home that is well protected requires a little casing and carrying B&E tools which put the bad guy in law enforcements crosshairs if you know what I mean. The eye bolts go through the frame at the bottom of each door and the end of the bolt is bent so the nut can't be taken off. The eye does not come through the door so that the eye can't be opened with a big screwdriver. The slot that the padlock shank comes through was done by using a template to align four holes drilled through from behind and joined by cutting the rest with a sabersaw.

If that's just a rug, it really IS a trap. Tell us, how did you build it?

Just a rug. LOL. It's a piece of plywood covered with carpet. I put a couple of 1 x 1s underneath to stop it from moving around. It's the first mod I ever did to our coach since we have a toddler and I definitely get clumsy after a few cold beverages.

I thought the same thing but looking at the first picture I could see the "rug" standing up next to the step well and realized there was much more to it.

Good idea and nice work

Installed two strips of Supernight 5630 SMD LEDS into each fluorescent light on the ceiling. Two strips give off more light than the tubes with a much more pleasing light to boot.

So while driving, the closet door would constantly unlatch itself and bang open. One trip it does it and the latch breaks! So when we stop I'm pondering why it does this and as I'm standing there I lean against the closet wall and it moves. Yup when the previous owner removed the old bedroom tv cabinet for an LED tv and swivel, he also removed the wall bracing. So I commissioned my nieces boyfriend to weld me a new tv mount and wall brace combo from aluminum. It will have a piece of 1/2" birch plywood across the face and the tv will mount direct to the wood. The tilt is already built into the mount. Haven't decided on final finish yet.

Not a lot of mods, more like additions.

Added a compressor bolted into the rear cargo area with a hose and pressure gauge long enough to reach all the tires.

Also spent $20 building a panel to give me the AC voltage reading from the shore power and generator and to keep an eye on DC voltage from the house batteries.

Not major mods, but figured it's a start. New Bounder, and I didn't like the way the water filter in one bay and the low point drains and water heater bypass valve were exposed to cargo. I also added a sewage hose storage. Was looking for something other than a bungy cord to hold the end cap on and found child proof clips that I think will work. They are like a seat belt and clip in to a latch.
