Many of us found that Safeco offered great first year rates, but then increased the premium substantially the second year. It wasn’t a problem because we just didn’t renew and moved on to another company. But make sure you keep your eye on next year’s renewal statement.

Just don't use Geico. They were a nightmare when my coach was stolen.

Using Progressive on my new coach.

The person I am buying the 2005 Alfa from has Progressive and is quite happy with them. It may be because we are in a different zip code area but SafeCo beat what they are paying by about $1,000. Worth the research!
Allstate told me that they no longer offer insurance for Motor Homes. They took a few days and told me that they could cover my RV with National General. But someone posted above that National General no longer offers motor home insurance.
The Allstate rep seemed to be a new guy. Kept asking me if my RV was a pull behind trailer! I said "Son, it has a motor, a transmission and a steering wheel, it's a motor home, not a travel trailer! : His insurance offer ended up just being a monthly payment quote, not a full page quote with coverage amounts to compare to others.
Anyway, I am happy with what I have, so far. And it's only $1,700 a year. $500 deductable, 100/300 comp, and has a no deductible glass policy. They said I can change the policy around later if I need to.

Thanks for all the input. You folks are great!

Actually, Allstate bought National General earlier this year. National General still insures RV’s / motorhomes

I find this to be true as well because they did the same thing to me. I moved to Safeco because they had better rates than Progressive whom I had and then tried to rip me off the next year. I am now with Nationwide. You really have to shop around because I got 2 different quotes for Nationwide and they were a few hundred bucks different. I stick to a broker I have been using for years and they do the shopping for me.
