Some states use the chassis VIN and others use the RV manufacturer's Certificate of Origin. This causes confusion if the years are different.

Our former motor home was first titled in South Carolina which uses the VIN. When we traded it in to a Florida dealer they said they would have to get a corrected title since Florida uses the Certificate of Origin method.

It is not a big deal if everyone is aware of what is going on and how to cure it....but it can cause worry along the way.

its confusing at best. I bought my RV new. Dealer paperwork & DMV state its a
2018 but the date stamp on chassis door (ford e-450) is 06/17 ???

Just moved to Texas and registered our MH, which was a 2003 on the Michigan title, but is now a 2002 on our Texas title???

Both class A's I have owned have had 1 year older chassis.

Here in Arkansas they go by the Chassis VIN,,, not the body date, so usually it will look a year older.... No I don't agree with that, but,,,,,
