Ms,Al, and Fl icey conditions

I-10 from New Orleans to at least Panama City Fl will be dangerous traveling at least until Friday. Most interchanges and overpasses are closed due to ice and snow. Temperature now in coastal Alabama is around 24F average and expected high around 35f. Low temperature tonight forecast is 17-19F. I-10 across Mobile Bay and Pensacola Bay iced over.

Not many options for East or Westbound travel.

Montgomery Al is also bad. Several I-65 and I-85 bridges are closed around the I-65 and I-85 interchange. City streets are closed at this time. It is overcast so no sun to help melt the ice. Should warm up tomorrow in the 40's but tonight is forecasted in the mid-teens. Stay off the roads because there is a quarter inch of ice, more in certain places, under the snow. Very slippery even for our 4-wheeler when feeding the horses.

Frozen

Chickens have stopped laying, the barn is cold, and my coach is inside the barn too.

Yup! We're at the Tyndall AFB famcamp with -1/4" ice. The base is closed, no way to counter the weather. Should've stayed at Naval Air Station Key West another month.

Your correct Ray! We're just down the road in Mexico Bch. Ice everywhere. Temps won't get above freezing today, worst I have seen as a native in my 66 years.

Tallahassee, Fl is faring a bit better. Had rain and sleet up until lunchtime. Schools were closed today, but we State employees had to come in. I suspect ice on the river bridges outside town. Just an all-round cold miserable day.

I hope all our iRV2 members & their families in the south stay safe & warm during your cold snap.

On the positive side, you'll be pretty much back to normal temps by this weekend. I think it made it up to 15-degrees here today.

Be careful out there!

Got over to my Mom's place tonight, where I have my deceased father's old van that I am about to convert into a small RV. It was covered in gnarly frozen sleet ice. The stuff is still falling now at 6:15PM.
If the stuff continues then freezes tonight on the roads, the drive in to work tommorow could be interesting. Gonna drop into the twenties tonight.
