Multiple Choice Question - Every AC Outlet is Crooked - Why?

Every AC outlet in my 2008 Phaeton is at a slight angle ... crooked
It is a pet peave of mine
Why did someone install them crooked.
What do you think? -- Multiple Choice
1) The axis of the earth has shifted since they were installed ... so they were once straight
2) The outlets are straight but everything else is crooked ... so its an illusion
3) I'm asking too much
4) QA doesn't hold them accountable to install straight
What do you think?

I would go with 1 and 2.
Are you sure it is not just the cover plates that are crooked?

If it bothers you, correct it.

Some folks just notice things others do not.

Along that same thread, it's a pet peeve.

Nah, it's the installers signature. Just like Jesse adding "chilli P" to his meth in Breaking bad.

That would bother me as well. Totally number 4.
Sad that this happens, sad that it goes to you the customer that way.

I don’t put my digital level on them. But if I can easily see the outlet is crooked then I don’t like it. When installing a new outlet it just takes a few seconds to level it. If your comfortable working around power outlets then I would adjust them. They are generally adjustable.

Of course they work just fine but come on.

I have had that issue with a couple of outlets and light switches in new houses and I have asked the builder to fix them.

OP, are you an eyeglass wearer?

With my progressives, and one eye being stronger than the other, I sometimes notice things being a tiny bit out of whack.

Edited to add: I initially thought the OP was talking about A/C, as in air conditioner outlets. Re-read and see that it's AC outlets. Unless the receptacle box in the wall is extremely crooked, the outlet itself can probably be adjusted to be non-crooked.
