Mystery of the missing dome-light cover....

Good Evening All,

An amusing anecdote from our first outing this past weekend. My hubby was driving the RV and I was following in our car. When we arrived at the campground, I told him to rest at the picnic table and I would set everything up (he is recovering from surgery). I set the levelers, extended the slides and started to put out all my stuff...(rugs, lamps, and such). Hubby walked up the steps and pointed out that we were missing the plastic cover that covers one of our overhead light fixtures in the living room arrea. He thought that he heard a clattering sound when he went over a bump in the road and we both realized that it probably fell off then. We both searched and searched. We searched behind the couches, under the couches, under the dinette and could not find it anywhere.

We were mystified until his son came out to visit the next day with the grandbaby. He suggested that maybe it fell onto the top of the slide since it would have been in the "in" position when the cover fell down. I got a ladder from the campground owner, climbed up, peered under the slide topper and lo and behold...there it was - sitting on top of the extended slide. Luckliy it did not get crunched when the slide was extended. We got a long-handled broom, retrieved it and snapped it back into place. Next time out...I will look up at the ceiling before I deploy the slides....

Faith

If this is the flouresent light cover, This is very common. Just a small dab of silicone sealant on each end of the cover, will take care of it.

One of mine came down so often I rigged some Velcro strips to hold it in place, Work Great.

Oh, by the way Thin-Light buys some rather poor florcesent tubes and slaps their name on them.. The ones I got at a regular store have a much higher color temp.. Much nicer, Much much nicer
