NADA Values Ford vs Chevy

We are looking for our first motorhome and have focused in on Class C with a bunkhouse floor plan.

There is a 2014 Coachmen Freelander Series M-32 BH with 38,000 miles that is close by and we are interested in looking at. It is build on a Chevy Chassis.

When I pull the NADA values, the average retail for thsi motorhomes and miles on a Chevy Chassis is $36,802, which is below the asking price of $46,000. However, the NADA value for a Ford Chassis is much higher at $65,205.

I was curious if this be of a swing in values for otherwise identical motorhomes seems reasonable. Also, if there is anything that anyone knows that is wrong with the Chevy chassis that would be driving down the value. Does anyone have any insights?

Please let me know. Thanks!

It may be that Ford has grabbed almost 100% of the Class C market in the last few years along with almost 100% of the Class A gas powered RVs while Chevy/GM and Chrysler have pretty much dropped building chassis for RVs.

Hard to imagine that much difference, even though the Ford chassis is more popular. I'm not sure I'd put much faith in the NADA value, though. It's just an estimate and not based on actual sales prices. Have you tried to find what typical asking prices are for those two? Maybe on RVTrader or at PPL Motorhomes?

** I took a quick look and it appears that the asking prices for Chevy 32BH are well above taht $36k number. Maybe NADA just goofed.
