National Interstate Insurance - Now "Triumphe" ?

After getting mad at the 20% rate increase from Progressive I got a quote from National Interstate as recommended by several folks here. The quote I got was for "Triumphe" which, according to the broker, is the "same product at a lower price."

Since I came in on the mid-watch I believe them...... NOT!

Anyone have experience with the "lower price" version of the same NI policy?

Googling Triumphe Insurance indicates NI has bought them.

Ask to see copies of the two policies so you can compare.

Any feedback on Triumphe Casualty Company insurance? Looks like they are now owned by National Interstate Corporation. They seem to have great coverage at low price. Anybody used them?

Unfortunately, all that means is that they are very good at taking your money....

Several years ago, a pickup towing a horse trailer backed into our parked coach. (We were in a store). Still he couldn't get out and backed into our coach again.
This was on the store's security camera. Too far out to get any usable information.
Called National Interstate, the agent said get it fixed and send the bill.
A lot more damage was uncovered as it was being repaired. The repair shop notified NI and the agent said "Okay, fix it".
Absolutely no questions (photo's sent to verify damage) and repair shop paid within a week of finishing work. Four years later and our rates are still the same. Good people.

Several years ago, I let a local independent agent place all of my insurance. HE save money on the cars, the house and the RV. He has the ability to shop the insurance fro the best and most cost effective coverage.

I have NI. We renewed in Nov & had nothing stating the name change or any other correspondence about Triumphe.

Our Awning was damaged from rain & wind this past summer. My wife was under the awning when it came down & hit her. She had dental xrays done with no damage found, luckily. The claims adjuster paid for the awning repair with no problem. She told us that in order for a claim to be paid on medical the injury must happen while inside the vehicle or entering or exiting the vehicle. None of the above was the case. She was outside trying to get the water off the awning. So we had the repairs made & was glad she had no physical injury. Two months later I get a phone call from another adjuster asking why we haven't sent in our medical receipts for my wifes injuries. I was surprised, so I sent the copy of the dentist bill & received reimbusement a week later.

NI paid a $50k claim on our coach last year. As you might expect with a claim that size, we had a few things we disagreed about but nothing major. Overall I was satisified with the claim handling.
