National RV Care
We're in the process of buying a 2014 Leisure Travel Serenity van. We're trying to decide if we should buy an extended warranty as it has no warranty. We talked to RV Advisors and they recommended a warranty through National RV Care. Does anyone know anything about either of these companies? I am so confused.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
I'm not a fan of extended warranties on RV's. I think that, in most cases, you would be better off putting that same amount of money into a special bank account to be used only for repairs.
Just noticed you are kinda new on IRV2 and wanted to say hello!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I don't think the company makes much difference. The primary question is whether an extended warranty (repair insurance) will be beneficial to you or not, and then the specific terms of the service contract that you are considering. I suggest you do a SEARCH here on 'extended warranty' an also 'National RV Care' to find the hundreds of previous messages on the subject and start reading.
As for RV Advisors, I have no experience with the group. It's a commercial endeavor, though, despite the rhetoric, and I assume the founder plans to profit from it. He's an "entrepreneur", not a charity, the club sells advertising, and maybe gets referral commissions.

The RV Advisor is not owned by a man. CEO and founder of the RV Advisor is Gigi Stetler. She has been helping the RV consumer for thirty years. The author of the message I felt compelled to respond to, criticizes the owner of the RV Advisor, because "he" stands to profit from the company "he" owns? Of course, Gigi aims to make a profit, but she does so by helping the RV consumer. Most of her services like the LLAF, Lemon Law Assistance Fund, do not cost anything. The RV Advisor will provide legal, financial and mechanical assistance to people who had been sold an RV lemon, and live in states where they have no recourse. The RV Advisor has helped countless RV consumers. Just a few corrections, the RV Advisor is owned by a lady and the RV Advisor was created to help the RV consumer. I have worked for the RV Advisor for a while now. I have great insight into how it works and how Gigi helps the RV consumer. It is a great job. Every day I go home feeling proud to have helped another RV consumer.

Anyone know how the legal dispute between Ms Stetler and Lemonis was resolved?
And any program with Dan Marino as a promoter can't be all bad....
