Need transport for RV

My military (Army) daughter needs to have her 32’ Keystone Outback trailer transported from Pine Plains, NY to her next post at Fort Sill, OK. She is new at this. Does anyone have a suggestion on who might do this reasonably?

You could try talking to a local RV dealer over who he uses to pick up trailers. He might not want to give her names but might be willing to ask his drivers and let them contact her. I might also talk to a truck cargo broker. Depending on the height it might be a problem on a flatbed trailer but it might make a return load for a trucker. In that case she would need to pay to have it loaded and unloaded. I'm assuming she does not have a truck to tow it.

The issue I see is the miles. Google says ~1600 miles. At a few dollars a mile out and back or more for a bigger truck one way neither will be cheap.

Welcome. Besides RV dealers you might Google trailer transporters as a possible option. IN any regards it will not be cheap
Good luck.

Try USHIP.com. My son had his 5th. wheel (39 ft) hauled from Williston, ND last August to my home which was about 760 miles. Bill was $909.16. Basically how it worked is that you give USHIP the information etc. and then you receive bids from individuals who may be able to haul it for you. It was kind of surprising how many bid and how quickly he received bids. You pay USHIP and they pay the hauler, I think they are independent haulers but work through USHIP. Once my son accepted the bid, in his case, the hauler was already about 100 miles away and was at this location within a couple of hours. His trailer was picked up on a Saturday night about 7:00 PM and it was here Monday morning about 10:00 AM. I'd almost guess being around a military installation you may be surprised what may be available. Good luck.

PS: Thank your daughter for me for "her service". Being an 'ol Army vet I really appreciate her service. This is a great country and we need more people like her to keep it that way!

I have heard good things about this system. Professional haulers us it who are deadheading back to the home base. They are having to go back empty so they make expenses buy this type of pick up.

Need transport for RV

I used uship for my trailer delivery earlier this year. The bids came in at between $0.75 and $2 per mile. I ended up with a guy who bid $1/mi.

Everything turned out well enough but it was not without its drama...uship was fantastic to work with during the process.

Edit to add: Uship drama

Although I agree with getting the best price for acceptable service I would not get stressed out over the cost since the military will be covering most if not all of the cost of a change of duty move. Thanks to her for her service!

I tried for more than a month of phone calls, brokers, truckers, tow truck operators, storage yards etc to move my salvage 4370 from Vegas to Michigan. No luck. Ended up driving to Vegas and fixed it and drove it back.

It was a much more difficult move than yours due to size and condition. I did learn quite a bit about trucking though What was surprising was the span of quotes that I received and how many were completely bogus quotes (low balling) that I likely would have been extorted to get delivery as no way could they move the RV at the low quoted price. Wouldn't even have paid the diesel fuel enroute. Not a process for the unwary.

That would depend upon her rank, time in service and a few other stipulations.

If you don't mind his dog and his cigarettes, there is a dude in Indiana that is probably looking for transport work.

You may want to google U-ship and "Shipping Wars". Believe me, and business model that has (had) a reality show needs to be scrutinized.

Thanks for your daughters service.

Is renting a truck and towing it herself an option for her?
