New 2013 Newmar Ventana 4346

We are considering purchasing a 2013 Newmar Ventana model 4346. It is new but with the 2015 models starting to arrive it is coming up on two model years old. The base price is $282,649 and the MSRP with all the options is $318,775. Theories abound on what discounts off MSRP are appropriate, but does anyone have any thoughts or any scientific data to suggest what a good price for this unit might be? The engine is 380 HP/1050 lbs. torque and the upgrade options are very nice (hydronic heat, upgraded wood cabinets, residential refrigerator, 2000 watt inverter, 3 heat/air conditioning units, just about everything one would want for upgrades. Thanks.

New 2013 Newmar Ventana 4346

They really want to get this sold, remember that. It's 2014 now.

Lowball and,

Get a long extended warranty,

lots of accessories (have a list and do your research),

Couple of years of satellite tv, etc.

Ask for the moon.

I agree with above. Make your offer and walk away. If they call you back its yours, check back every 30 days.

If it were me I would lowball at $192k (40% below MSRP) and see what they do. They will probably come back at the standard 28%. Respond that it is a two year old model and you would like to see pricing from them that reflects it.

The 2015's are either out or will be shortly, actually 3 model yr. old.

15's are out, just made the rounds on pricing them.

U can get 26.5% easy at many dealers, I can give a dealer that will do 28%.

So 40% for three years old Vs 28 brand new, doesn't take rocket science.

If that rig was stolen or wrecked the insurance will not cover your cost, they will look in NADA & that's about what U get.

PASS

Oh the tires are 3 years old???????

My dealer was selling the 2014 40' Ventana new in January for $220K plus tax and license with all the desired options, including the Oasis unit. I think a reasonable price would be $210K - $215K. Even though it's still new, the value has dropped with the 2015's already on the lots.

You pose an interesting point. How does one look at this since we are in 2014 and yet 2015 models are out?

My thinking was:
2015: Current model
2014: 1 Year Old
2013: 2 Year Old

What is NADA on it? Would help you in your decision making, since that is what it is worth when you drive it off the lot.

This 2013 4346 is the same coach that we bought last March. We had a trade and got a good trade price and that was an 07 Gulf Stream and total price was about 30% of the 318 sticker price. We love this coach and now have 8,000 miles on her. I am new at IRV2 (first post) although I have been watching the Newmar posts. I would look carefully at the ceramic floor (on your hands and knees) where the full wall slide rollers are for marks from the rollers. Our is starting to show marks. You care use that to get price down and get them to throw in the floor protectors.
Good luck.

What would NADA price be for the unit if used? I realize mileage is zero vs typical used would have some miles on it. The point that insurance will give you NADA equivalent is what the value is and the point for negotiation.

If you buy it and then a tree falls and crushes it when parked at your house, totaling it out, you get compensated the value of a 2013 used unit.

Thanks. I did get them to throw in the required 15 slide roller protectors, along with an electric cord reel holder and a built in surge protector, plus they installed those items for me. The coach is awesome, haven't used it yet but can't wait until next year. Thanks for the input.
