New Furniture

Full timing and my size was too much stress on our typical “RV” furniture. After 5 years full timing, and my 6’2” 280 lbs size our furniture was toast. The upholstery was flaking off, and the recliner frames bent. Frustrating searches for Quality RV furniture never panned out. So we considered conventional Furniture. The question was could we find conventional furniture that would fit an operate in the limited RV space? The answer was an astounding Yes. This was our criteria for the Recliners:
1. Leather upholstery
2. Fit and operate on 43” slide-out platform.
3. Fit width wise.
4. Rated 300 lbs +

This was our criteria for the Sofa:
1. Quality fabric upholstery
2. Fit depth 42”
3. Sleeper
4. Full size ( we want a smaller sofa to give room for a end on each end)
5. Rated 900 lbs.

Our choice was Rowan Wall huggers, and Leah Sofa from Lazy Boy. The point to this thread is we are not restricted to RV furniture. These recliners fit and operate well in our 5th wheel.

When we had our 5th wheel, we replaced the RV recliners with Lazyboys. Now that we have a class C, the dinette has been replaced with Lazyboy recliners. On the Lazyboy website, you can view the measurements of their offerings. Good luck with your search.

When we had our Jayfeather 25Z, we hated the jackknife sofa that was in it. But no other furniture would fit because it was in a raised slide over the wheels. We didn't need a sleeper so bought a nice used love seat at a thrift store for the seat cushions and built a custom base with end tables that fit in the space.
I thought it might be a liability when we went to sell the RV, but it was not. Most people that looked at the RV were couples and liked the setup. The RV industry seems to think that they need to sleep 6 or 8, but I'm sure there are plenty of us that will never have more than 2.

Those look SO comfy, ostory. You'll be very happy with LZB. I've had LBZ furniture for nearly 25 years. On my last redecorating, I donated our 20 y.o. LZB furniture & it looked nearly as good as the day I got it & had no mechanical issues. I'm on my 2nd set now.

I also like you chose a pattern for the couch that coordinated with the solid recliners. I HATE matchy-matchy furniture. In my S&B I have patterned side chairs with a solid loveseat. Provides pleasing variety to the eye. Wish it was that way in our coach which is a sea of taupe with the solid furniture & dinette fabric. I have to use throws & pillows to add color.

Enjoy your comfy new furniture.

Gotta love Lazyboy stuff. Our LZB leather sofa and love seat are 20 years old and look/feel brand new. No butt craters and have outlived two large breed dogs (both very spoiled and allowed on sofas occasionally)
Even our old dual recliner LZB sofa, purchased 30+ years ago is still going strong in the guest cabin. If we ever upgrade the RV furniture there's no question about brand.

I removed the front window. It was a piece of cake afterwards.
