Did some window shopping today.... fell in love with the truck. The campers I didnt care for. No floor plans I liked and they seemed cheaper than I wanted. The top of the lines that I saw were the Big Sky and Big Country. Neither had a floor plan with a back bedroom and forward living room in between 34-38 foot. The truck is a f350 lariat with a bunch of extras... SUPER FINE!!!

As tall as you are you may prefer a front bedroom & rear living. Cedar Creek makes a very nice 5ver. If possible try to get one with an "Artic Package". It has extra insulation which will pay off in cold & hot extremes.

Saw your handle and couldn't help reading the title as "New Guy Planning on Full-Tilting at Windmills."

We have a Dynamax Trilogy 3850D fiver - I can vouch for this rig - we are thrilled and in our third year! Good luck!

Ive actually narrowed it down a toyhauler. Id like to make the garage a gym so i wont always have to hunt for one to join. Yes, it wont be the super sturdy design of a space craft. but hey reality sinks in sometimes and you realize how much all of this would actually cost. Leaning heavily towards a grand designs 38 ft toy hauler and handling the minor issues myself.

Now the next question:

Financing!

Who does long term fixed loans for $50-90K campers? Id rather have low notes for when money gets tight i can still afford the payment. I know the long term risks of interest and higher rates. I also know how to handle principal payments on an Amortization Schedule

Also, insurance!

Any truly rough ball park ideas of what a 42 foot full length full time 5th wheel would run? Id fully cover it as it would be my home.

If the amount is 35K or more, you can get a 15 year loan. The dealer can take care of the financing and you can possibly refinance for a better deal.
