We add about a cup of rock salt to a 5 lb bag of ice and take off down the road. The rock salt keeps the ice around for a little bit longer so that it has a chance to knock things loose. Works like a charm.

We upgraded to a See-Level system early on. But in reality we found that the best Black tank sensor is the flushing sound. If you listen, the woosh sound when flushing changes as the tanks fills. It is foolproof and reliable.

Our first used motorhome had a sensor problem. We tried the ice cube thing but when you think about it, the ice cube float on the surface of the fluid in the tank. The scrubbing action is only at the surface level. Odds are the sensors are not at that level.

We did have luck using Extreme Cleaner by Happy Campers. We filled the Blank tank adding the diluted cleaner in until the whole can was in solution just before leaving. Then we drove a couple of hundred miles to the next site. Lots of stuff came out when we dumped the tank.

Well, it appears that the black tank valve will not close. The handle and cable are moving, but the valve is staying open.

Have some work to do, might hire this one out...I hate working on my back and upside down. Sewer doesn't bother me as much as being upside down.

If you have access to the black valve, they are not hard to replace.

If you have access to the side wall of your tanks; Fix for level sensors is this:

I helped my buddy twice with a bad black tank valve, I agree, hire this one out if feasible. If not pull it out in to the middle of a cow pasture to work on it.

THAT is an issue. We live in an RV park, and keeping the space clean is imperative.

You should have a tank flush connection. If not install one. It is the only real way to keep the tank clean. Use happy camper.

It has one, but I doubt anyone has used it prior to my purchase of the trailer.

That said, it is pushing lots of crap out!!!
