Norcold Fridg repair / In Alaska

Help --- Fridg went out. We are in Alaska and will be here another month. Any suggestions on Norcold service (cooling unit shot) in southern Alaska (Kenai Peninsulia)?

I am not sure about the Kenai area, but check with Karen's RV(1-907-336-2055) in Anchorage. They have done 'other' types of repairs for me and have been good.
Good luck!

If you have some basic mechanical ability and a VOM you can purchase telephone or e-mail troubleshooting from Norcold for around $40. I did this and discovered a bad board which they mailed to me on a two day ship.

I think he knows what's wrong with it and needs someone to replace the cooling unit... Isn't there an RV Service website for referrals?

We had an RV person out to investigate and they told us its the cooling unit. We are having trouble getting one shipped directly to us from the lower 48 so we need to find a reputable place that can get it and install it for us.

Norcold no longer cold

There is a place out of Soldotna that can get you the cooling system and a guy there that will replace. Try the RV park on the Kenai river in Soldotna for help in locating them. Advise if you need additional help. My brother is on the Kanai and he may know someone.

Thanks Garnet, I am actually sitting in Soldotna right now. I will call the parks along the river and find out the name of the place. Thanks!

Did you look at the link above that H. Miller posted? There's one listed in Soldotna and others in Anchorage. Good luck!

Sharpest guy in the business, David Force. Has an ebay site, I believe his phone number is there, or maybe someone else will chime in with the number. He will take phone calls and email. David will have the best replacement for your unit. He seems to work 24/7. I believe he is also on this site.

I give another strong vote for David Force. Do not replace with another Norcold brand cooling unit. Call David at 90133799 four eight.

refrigerator replace

I agree with the others about David Force's Amish replacement. I installed his in my Norcold 1200 three years ago.
I found the info on Kenai RV tech;
Dan's Mobile RV Service
Kenai Peninsula
907-283-5976
also we got parts at;
Alaska Recreational--RV Parts
6 miles south of Soldotna on Sterling Hwy
907-262-2700 Barbara
Good luck. Things change a lot up there--but they should help.
Be sure and check out Trustworthy's sporting goods for best fishing selection. I just checked the Kenai river fish count is 36,000 sockeye. They also have great hardware selection. Good time to fish & work on MH later.

winningteam, When traveling and with chassis or coach problems I have used Coach-Net to help problem solve and if needed to locate a service provider on numerous occasions. You may want to look into them for future problems. If necessary contact them to sign up and help now.

I had to use them in Homer AK with a mechanical issue with the diesel engine. They were instrumental in locating a reputable repair facility.

Safe travels and THE JOY IS IN THE RIDE
