North Carolina weigh stations

Hello, does anybody have any experience driving through North Carolina? Do they require 3-axle class A's to stop at weigh stations? Has anybody ever passed right on by? What happens?

I was told that if you are driving an RV that you can just drive on by (as saddlesore said). I’ve never pulled through a weigh station.

I live in NC. You do not stop. I never stop at any of them. We are not commercial and it does not pertain to us.

I've stopped twice. Both times they were closed and the computer screens were off and I couldn't see my weights. Gave up and went to Cat scales and did four corner weights.

If you're not commercial don't stop.

I never go in any scales but took the precaution of buying a licence plate with RV on it so that if they chase me down the road I can tell them i am exempt.

Live in NC.....

You are non-commercial so don't have to stop, and I've never stopped.

We have traveled all through the US, or at least most of it and NEVER have stopped at any weigh station. I have stopped as every else had to at various "border check points" along the highway in TX, NM and AZ
