More than one instance was discussed.
I had to bypass a friend's brothers ATS because while moochdocking, he had him plug into 240v dryer outlet. Luckily it killed the timer delay type board and wouldn't pull in the contactor.

I wired a 50 amp power outlet at the barn and purchased a power cord off Amazon. It works just fine when friends want to camp in our woods.

A 20 amp hook up just fine to run 1 moderate size AC, but it must be very short and equal or larger than 10GA. I run my AC on 50A 5th with 20A using 8 GA. 20 ft. off standard 20A outlet. But limit other electrical loads.
