Not getting Propane

Have 2012 Canyon Star 3856 and I do not consistently get propane. The tank is 3/4 full. I have replaced the dual regulator and still have the problem. The problem is that I will turn on the propane slowly or fast and when I go to the propane stove top no propane is coming. After I drive for a while having left the propane tank open I do get propane at the stove and the heaters and the fridge. But after I turn it off and back on in a week or so, I do not get propane at any device. What else can I look at?

As an aside, I just added a hose for my grill with a separate shutoff valve. When I could not get propane at the stove I thought maybe I needed to release pressure so I opened the other valve for a while. NO HELP.

Have the system checked for leaks.

Possable that your rubber hose from the regulator to the hard plumbing is breaking down internally. That can cause a partial blockage.

If it acted this way before you added the new line then check or replace hoses and possibly your regulator also is going bad. Both are pretty cheap.

When you valve your propane in and then try to light a stove top burner how long to you leave burner knob open?

When propane system is shutdown the LP Reg goes into 'lockup' status
Demand has to be placed on LP SYSTEM for reg to come back into operation and then flow has to be established.

Depending on where/distance appliance is from tank/regulator this can take several seconds

With stove top burner knob open..hold a bbq lighter to burner and allow gas to flow ....then air/fuel ratio has to be in correct percentage to ignite

Remember LP System is only 0.4 psi (11"WC) and stove/oven has another regulator which is set for 10"WC (0.36 psi)

IF you have already done the above........
Next time you valve in your propane tank crack the fitting on RV side of LP REG and check for flow of propane.

YES.....then do so at next fitting
NO...then issue is on tank side of LP REG

Check CO2 switch and fuse for that switch. Solid green light indicates switch working properly, flashing green means it is cycling up, red means switch off and or fuse bad!

What does a CO2 switch have to do with his propane problem? For that matter, what is a CO2 switch? Do you perhaps mean CO? Or maybe the LP gas detector?

Sounds like air in the LP gas lines, which often means a leaky fitting or hose somewhere. Old Biscuit gave sound advice on figuring it out.

There were some with C02 sniffers that electrically turned off the propane.

CO2 is Carbon DIOXIDE.what everybody EXHALES

CO is Carbon MONOXIDE....which is a product of combustion.

Combination CO/LP Detectors are avaialble
LP Detectors USE to trip DC on propane solenoid.
(CO didn't do that function)

Take a visit to Texas Star Propane in Magnolia, Tx. They should be able to help you. They deliver propane in your area and might even do a service call to your home for your MH.

Sorry to not get back earlier. Received a new regulator from Newmar. That did not solve the problem. I checked the flow after the new regulator and there was very little coming from the new regulator. Put the old regulator on and had good flow after the regulator and the system started working. Made a trip to Colorado and back and the system worked perfectly. Complained to Newmar about the regulator they had sent me and they sent me another.

Just got the MH back from servicing, where before our trip I was going to have them check out the propane system, but as the system appeared to be working decided to save a couple of bucks. Should have spent the money as propane system not working. Propane not getting to the stove. Have replaced regulator again with newest one from Newmar. Again low flow. Put back old regulator and good flow. Checked from pipe back to hose and also have good flow. Stove will light one burner for about 2 seconds and then stops. Fridge and water heater on propane do not work.

Just remembered that I have a propane furnace. Turned it on and set temp to 90. The front zone blowers came on but shut off. The back zone stayed on and blew heat.
