Thanks for posting the Times article. These are indeed, difficult times for RV manufacturers and dealers as well as all of us who enjoy the RV lifestyle. We just returned from about 5 weeks on the road and noticed that some of the campgrounds were only partially full of campers. And this was at destination parks, not just stopover ones. We also noticed that the cost of gas dropped some 30 cents a gallon, so maybe things will improve. One thing that hurts the dealers is that this year, instead of possibly trading my Allegro, I'm just going to do some needed upgrades, and keep on RVing. Others I'm certain will do the same. No upgrade from my Workhorse gasser to the DP that I have always wanted.

Last paragraph from the article, this is why I prefer to travel by RV.

"R.V. owners are also proud to point out that you don't get X-rayed or asked for your ID every time you move 10 feet. You don't have to take off your shoes unless you want to. Your luggage travels with you at no extra cost. You don't have to sit in a middle seat. And if you decide at the last minute that you want to go over there instead of over here, you don't pay a fee to make the change."

In other words, we refuse to be "herded" through life like a bunch sheep to slaughter.
