OCPD overload?

As someone who suffers from OCPD (literally), I really sometimes wonder why I got into RVing. I'd give anything for the ability to just let things go!

We just purchased our 2007 MADP - and most would agree it's nearly perfect. It's been stored inside, virtually no miles and the punch list has been corrected. Yet, rather than focus on the custom Essex paint scheme, heated tile floors, beautiful woodworking and the host of features this awesome rig has - I'm focusing on the 6" of imperfections at the back of the coach where there's a few defects in the paint. There's no actual cracks, I don't believe it's the usual fiberglass "checking" problem (and a couple of the issues are in the rear cap) -- just a few "bumps" in the paint that you can't actually feel, but only see at certain angles. Drives me nuts (more so!) Naturally, since it's dark gray, the usual waves and blemishes found on nearly all coaches are highlighted.

Just wondering if I'm alone in my pursuit of sweating the small stuff instead of enjoying life to the fullest. Maybe you "normal" folks can share some tips to regain one's sanity.

Just a thought . . . . if you are in the driver's seat driving down the beautiful highways . . . you can't see the back. And of course, no one else notices the little things on your RV that seem so obvious to you. . . . enjoy your new rig and try not to sweat the small stuff.

Well said jeeper john ! If it moves when you say go and stops when you say whoa- just feed it some hay and ENJOY. Life is too darn short to worry about a wrinkle or two; on us or the RV!

I have similar paint imperfections. I notice them every now and then. With all the normal maintenance and things going wrong, I forget about the paint a few seconds after I see it.

Since you are OCPD, nothing we say here is going to change your mind. You may as well get it fixed so you can rest easy.

There are some very fine companies located in the Commonwealth of Kentucky that produce some very fine bourbon whiskeys that can help you with your problem. I myself am partial Maker's Mark (Loretto, KY) as my normal bourbon with an occasional Knob Creek (Clermont, KY) when I wish to "kick it up a notch". You have a very fine coach, enjoy it. You're going to have enough problems that you "have to" deal with concerning it, why add the ones you don't have to deal with. However, since my DW has those same tendencies that you possess, and the smallest nick or imperfection in the paint, is on open wound until it is fixed, you might as well take RV Roamer's advice and repair whatever is bothering you. Then you can really enjoy one, or more, of those fine bourbon whiskeys.

From my experience, the fix is often worse than the original problem... so I'm tempted to not tempt fate.

It's bothering me less -- I just keep telling myself, it's 45 linear ft of surface area - it's not going to be perfect and if it was, it wouldn't stay that way. That's what I keep telling myself anyway

You could get it fixed and it could be perfect, but be honest, it takes about four minutes for something else to become the focus. That's my problem. I tell myself that if I only get this working or fixed to my satisfaction then I can relax and life will be good. As I'm telling myself this I know full well that I'll find something else to take it's place and worry about. Doesn't help much but like Red Green says "we're pullin' for you, we're all in this together"
