Old Gas Removal
I've been so busy this year, I haven't run my rig for 4 months and it'll be 3 more before I can use it. Concerned the gas might be getting old. Is there an easy way to pump 55 gallons out? Or? What do you recommend? Stabil? Maybe it's ok? Thanks.

If it were me, I would drive it. If you do pump is out, just pump a few gallons at a time and use it in your car/truck. Lots of tractors sit for extended amount of time and they don't seem to have any problems.

That amount of time is probable not going to be an issue.
A fitting on the fuel rail pressure test port and a hose you can transfer fuel into cans.

Mine sat about 15 months during Covid, had no problems when I finally got back on the road.
You'll be fine.

Stabil will help. I use of my gas I keep around each season for my backup generator.

You will be fine.. add stabilizer in it.. run gen.. add fuel cut off switch or valve to gen.. run dry.. you can add lawn mower fuel shut off valve for less than 10 bucks and 30mins.. run dry to help save carb from gunking up.. good luck and let us know what you did and maybe better members then me will help you

I have a gas engine farm tractor that sits unused for up to 8 months at a time, most often with a partial tank of gas. It has never failed to start on the first turn of the key, nor has it ever ran badly after starting.
I do dose my 5G gas cans with 2oz of Seafoam in each one.
If you wish, go fill your tank, adding the appropriate amount of Seafoam or Stabil first.

You cannot "run a carb dry". The bowl will always have gas remaining below the pickup tube. The only way to completely drain a carb is to have a drain in the bottom of the bowl, like my Boliy genset engine.

I have laid up gasser boats for 6 mos at a time for many years without issue. I used Stabil.
Best to look for ethanol free gas if you know it will be stored for some time.

That is the ticket, I just did the same yesterday before putting our MH in storage.

The engine will run fine, the gas will still be ok. Just try to use the fuel in the next few months. If not add Stabil.
