I read so many posts on here about all the problems folks have with new RV's, taking them back to the dealer dozens of times to get things fixed that should have never left the factory!

I honestly think that even if money was not a consideration I would choose a 3-4 year old gently-used rig over a new one, hoping that the previous owner had gotten all the bugs out!

Older RV's Vs. New Ones?

Attended an outdoor RV show in Grapevine,TX about six weeks ago. Walked into a Newmar and was talking to the sales guy. He asked what we were in. I said, 2002 Eagle. His reply, "that's when they built them well." I will say the Prevosts there seemed to be built really well, but hardly any interior storage and to me the interiors look like a Liberace dream.Click image for larger version

We are certainly not experts at new vs used. First bought a Newmar Durch Star 2002. Well made. Lives in it over winter two years in S. Texas. Then DW said no more winters in this tight(41') coach. So bought mobile home and sold coach. Then bought 30 foot class c C Cambria to camp in during the summer. After two seasons she said can't stand the bed in a slide out that you have to get into it from the foot end and didn't like the small cab. Now we traded it for a 32n Windsport that had 1300 miles and was two years old. So far happy with it as a summer camper. Gas mileage has never changed between any of the three(DS was a diesel). So we have gone A-C-A in six years. I did like the drivers door in the class c. On the Windsport I have added several devices to improve the F53 chassis handling. Rear sway bar and tract bar . I also put on front Sumo Springs and a steering stablizer(Safety Plus).
