Thanks for the update, always nice to hear the outcome of a project like that.

It's great to hear that so many people showed up to help.

Thank you for reporting back the results of your travel. I'm so happy it all worked out. Bless you & your family for being such caring children for your mom & step-dad. They appreciate it more than you will ever know.

Glad the 'ol boy enjoyed the trip. Just about the time you think a older person is going to do one thing they change plans. I think it is to keep us guessing.

They'll always surprise you. That trip will be one of his last great memories...being able to see the beautiful country, especially on the I-15 through St. George and on. Glad you got it done.

Many believe that you have to be death imminent to get hospice involved and that there is a time limit. We were surprised when it was recommended that we place my mother-in-law in hospice when death wasn't imminent. We called the doctor, he approved hospice care, and she has been in hospice care, at her assisted living facility, for two years.

By placing him in hospice you can get help with a visiting nurse, great for adjusting medications versus dragging him to the doctor. They also provide someone to bathe him. Many incontinent supplies are provided along with many medications.

Hospice care is a great help. Can not recommend the service enough.

Word of caution. Some doctors feel that hospice care is for immediate end of life only, as some programs shift care protocols when the transition is implemented. Two issues - hospice care can be of great help, in that the family can be close over a time of great need, but that time can be shortened, if communication as to state of health is not clear and ongoing.
