Opinions and suggestions for Shading
Hi, I have a 2002 29' fifthwheel that i live in fulltime at a semi-permanent location (A rented Lot) in Ohio. It doesnt have the best shade options and since i rent I cant just plant some trees or build a pole barn. The owners actually pretty cool about letting you do things but the only thing hes strict about is whatever you do the structure must be able to be moved when and if you do. So, that means nothing permanent or structurally built. Im on a budget so I was considering building something like my own party canopy structure system using pvc piping and fittings that i anchor in planter pots with cement. Then buying or making shade screen panels and attaching them to the frame. Has anyone ever done or heard of anything similar? I'm wanting to know how well it would hold up and for how long so i can plan on how to save for a steel carport kit as a more permanent solution. Any opinion, suggestion and/ or input is greatly appreciated.

EZ Snap.com. I just installed these covers over our windows and slide walls. They cut 70% of heat. Spendy yes. But they work. I used the 3-M sticky connectors. Spent about 450.00 for 7 windows and 2 slide walls. Did my neighbors also.

Farmtek.com sells cut sizes of shade material with an assortment of shading percentages. Also several types of mounting/hanging hardware.

Chain link fence rail material anchored in buckets of cement, creating uprights. Shade sails or shade cloth hung from the uprights.

I am not sure if a pvc structure would stand up to wind very well. DW and I volunteer at a charity booth in the NOLA Jazz Festival every year. They use something like the tent linked here to provide shelter and shade for the workers. The frame is very sturdy steel. They tie it down at the corners to plastic 55 gallon barrels filled with water. Of course you would have to find one long enough to cover your 5W (or maybe get two of them and set them up end to end since you are only worried about providing shade not rain shelter) and you would probably have to extend the legs to provide enough height...
I Hope this helps...

We started out in our 5th wheel using this. Works great. And Home Depot sells in smaller rolls.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
Noticed you are kinda new on IRV2 and wanted to say hello. How about one of the 10x10 canopies and hang the sunscreen panels around the sides? Have fun and keep her between the ditches!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Are you planning to use it in the winter where snow load may be a problem?

Here's a thought.....they make flagpole holders that sit under your RV tires.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Flagpole-...d9&athena=true
Put one under your rear tire and one under your front jack. Get some poles, either fence pipe or maybe black pvc sewer pipe, insert them in the pole holders and place a cross bar at the top. Buy the Home Depot garden mesh and string between the poles. The system would definitely be easily removable.
