Opinions on folding rocker

We've been looking for a comfortable folding rocking chair. Have any of you bought the one below, and if so, what is your opinion of it?

Some of the reviews mentioned that the seat is short, which Annette would love! She is short and most folding chairs are uncomfortable for her because the front digs in behind her knees!

Joe - I just went to our local department on Tuesday (Boscov's, here in the Northeast) and purchased a very nice recliner - zero gravity - though could have opted for a rocker or conventional version. They were marked down to ~$50 from $80. Before you commit to Amazon (and we do purchase a lot there on a Prime account) would suggest a local store first and try out the seat position as sending things back even at no cost Prime is a royal pain.

We bought this one Gander Mountain Rocking Quad Chair Hunter Green
and love it, but that being said, I'm 5'7" so it may not be as comfortable for Annette. I think I would encourage a test drive.

X2 on the Gander Mountain chair. Love ours,DW is 5'4" and has no problem with feet touching ground. I like it because the back is tall enough that my head will lean against it and not flop around when I fall asleep.

Looks pretty similar in terms of frame design to the rocker we bought from Camping World.

My wife is 5' 4" and seems to love it. We've had ours for a little more than a year and it seems to be holding up pretty well. It folds reasonably flat - but is a little on the wide side - which means it can't be packed into a basement compartment on it's side (I have to lay it flat on a slide out tray). Unless you've got a several chairs that you stack in that manner - it just feels like it makes inefficient use of prime storage space.

Thanks, but not enough padding for us old folks!

That looks like a good one, but Annette doesn't like the color. Thanks anyway!

Aberdeen RV has some rockers that we have been using for years. No padded seat and the back could be taller but they are comfortable. It is essentially a directors chair that rocks. Around $60 the last one I purchased but that was a few years ago.

Thanks Roger, but as I said, us old folks gotta have that padding!

Just wanted to give you an update!

Received the rocker today that I linked in my initial post, and here are my initial observations.

!. It is indeed a small rocker! Larger folks would definitely not want this one! The seat is not very deep, which Annette likes because she is short.

2. It is very comfortable, but I'm concerned about how well it will hold up in the long-term. There is no reinforcement at all in the seat, just the fabric and padding! It is supported entirely by steel tubes down each side!

3. Some folks in the reviews complained about difficulty in releasing the latches when folding the chair up. I did not find this to be a problem, as long as you grasp them properly.

4. Many in the reviews complained about the plastic caps covering the ends of the rockers being missing. This is true, as one of mine is gone. They fit very loosely and will slide right off without much effort. I will just pick up a couple of them at Lowes. No big deal!

We have been waiting for some company to come out with a folding rocker, well padded, with lumbar support, but so far that hasn't happened. In the meantime I guess we will try these!

These are hard to beat for quality and comfort, but they are more expensive than most.
