The removal of competion will have a dramatic impact on the citizens' bank accounts. It is time to take a careful look at candidates prior to election. This should have never seen the light of day.

No surprise here! Just keep in mind that liberals, generally, are all about CONTROL.
I think Chavez was here just to teach the U.S. socialists how to take control of everything!

As long as we can keep this discussion on the use of aftermarket parts on the RV and trucks we are OK. This can not turn into a political debate which would violate the Terms of service.

Part of the problem with legislation like this is what is termed "unintended consequences". For example, the "Mark to Market" provision in the Sarbanes Oxlely legislation passed to plug holes in the system after the Enron debacle was responsible for the depreciation of assets that led to last summer's problems.
How far will this one bill go? I didn't see limitations that prevent it from being applied to other types of non-OEM parts (unless I'm not reading the article correctly.) What about a Banks kit? What about another brand of spark plug? Air filter? This would pretty much put all of the local auto parts stores in the State out of business over night. What kind of an impact would that have on the economy?

Sad, but it doesn't suprise me.
Our governer also decided Oregon emission regulations should be decided by the California Air Resource Board.
I wonder if that means soon we too with have to buy "spill proof" gas cans. I've found most of them block your view of what you are filling, resulting in more spilled gas than a much cheaper regular gas can.
