Pass the bill: problem solved.

The only way the people who propose this stuff will learn is after the bill actually passes and the “unintended consequences” rear up and bite them where the sun seldom shines.
I say “seldom” because when these same people assume their accustomed cranial rectimitis position, the sun will shine on those otherwise unexposed parts.

If the proposal becomes law, there will be a day when no one will have to endure the annoyance of handing a credit card to someone and having them put diesel in the tank while you remain in a climate controlled vehicle. There is always the option of heading to CA to do the work yourself while paying an extra buck a gallon.

Oregon appears to still remain open to people of all intellects, so it is possible to assemble there with a group of smart friends and take in the sights. Who knows, you may even run in to some of the poor, less knowledgeable locals, who enjoy some of the finest RV service centers, low vehicle registration fees and no sales tax. If not, they probably wouldn’t mind if the smart folks stayed elsewhere.

Exactly right, rjwilliams. And not necessarily just for the notoriety. There quite often is a lobbyist in the mix that is trying to drive some idea that a client had that would be good for his/her business. And, usually, where a lobbyist is involved, so is some form of (legal) contribution to the legislator who will push this client's agenda.

It’s a proposal, which makes your statement false.
