Owning a MH and a pop up

Hi,

We absolutely love our 37ft class A, but there are times I would like to camp in out of the way places I could never get my MH in to and in winter.

I am thinking a popup would be perfect for those time. My v8 4wd Toyota Seqouia could easily tow it.

Does anyone have both a MH and a popup?

Thanks,

We had a 35' class A and had the same desires as well as my idea to have a portable ham shack. Bought a small, vintage fiberglass camper (Trailswest Campster) with very minimal features, I mean almost none beyond the dinnette/bed, sink, and solar.

After about 6 months, we sold the A and continue to use the little camper. So, be careful what you wish for. [emoji16]

Hi,

We like the A far too much, it's like a home away from home :-)

I do a lot of winter tent camping and a popup would be nice for it.

UD-

You like unicorns... Why not a Scamp? A Minnesota product, too!

Saw one of their fifth-wheels the other day. Didn't know they made one. It looked pretty cute. Wouldn't work with your Sequoia, though.

Certainly it would be great at times to have a big one and a small one. Why not consider a tiny hard-sided trailer rather than a pop up? It seems if you winter camp it would make it much more enjoyable and easier in case of inclement weather and you wouldn't have to pack up wet canvas.

I had a popup truck camper with about 18" of canvas around the perimeter. The furnace was constantly cycling when I was snowmobile camping.

We have a pop-up and a class C. A couple years ago we towed the pop-up on a 5k mile trip with another couple, and it was their bedroom. A number of people that saw it marveled at it.

A couple we camp with tow a little Casita. The nice thing is that they unhook and we use the tow vehicle to sightsee. We use our class A to get together at night and cook and watch movies. It works out to be the best of both worlds!

Thanks all,

I have seen a few Cassitas/Scamps and they look nice.

If I got something I would love an Aliner or similar, but they are very expesive.

This is really just me day dreaming :-)

Aliner is very nice. A pop-up can cost as much as a used Aliner.

This whole site is pretty much daydreaming, it's what we do.

We owned a 38' Monaco DP and a 25' Class C for several years. Both were useful. We used the class C like it was a van or a big car and used it several times a week. I really liked it when I had to take the wife shopping. I could stay in the air conditioning with my shoes off watching TV while she wandered around the mall and if it got late we would sometimes just stay the night.

I too have a motorhome, and if I were to buy a second "camping" rv it would probably be one of the fiberglass eggs, Casita, Scamp, etc.
