Park caused damage to rig
So....we’re in a RV park on the Oregon central coast...huge wind storm last night caught the heavy park picnic tables and threw them at our coach and toad.
The park owner has already said they aren’t responsible since it was an act of God....well not securing the picnic tables was an act of negligence we think...
We have a LOT window damage to the RV and our toad...our insurance companies are on it but there are a few thousand dollars of deductible that we’d like to recover...
I’d appreciate your thoughts!
Thank you.

Really ? You expect them to 'Secure' picnic tables ? Sounds like just a Very 'Unfortunate' bad storm. Deal with it and move on.

Ditto. That's what you have insurance for.

The park’s insurance should ultimately pay for the damage. You will likely have to front your deductible, but should be able to recover it in the end.

Although I do not believe in "Acts of God", I DO believe that mother nature can be a fickle and malevolent mistress at times. S#!t happens.

May anchor them after this but I can see you and your ins company having to take them to court to get anything

They won't anchor. I wouldn't expect an RV Park to pay out on this. Very unfortunate, but that's why you have insurance.

Sorry to hear of the damage to your vehicles.
Would think your best plan would be to file an insurance claim as you have, and let them sort it out. They have been through similar claims before.
Welcome to our forum.
Nice to have you aboard.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!
I really feel for you, but I'm afraid the others are right. I doubt you will get anything out of the CG.
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

The park didn't cause the damage. The wind caused the damage, sue mother nature or you could charge it to the dust and let the rain settle it. Mother nature can be cruel at times.

How many parks have you been where the tables were anchored?

I dont understand, you did not check if the tables were bolted down before you reserved the spot? Have yet to run across a table bolted down in my 58 yrs. Tables seem to be the 1st thing that we move around to our preference once we get set up. I sure as heck dont want to have to unbolt them in order to move it.
Good luck with your repairs, although i myself would expect to cover the deductible under this circumstance.
