Hi Everyone

I have been looking to upgrade our converter/charger (it is OEM) and add and inverter with portable solar, and maybe another deep cycle 6V in series to add to our battery holding capabilities.

I have spent way too many hours on Youtube looking for suggestions and DIY, but nowhere can I find a specific replacement converter.

Isn't there a website that will cross reference parts? Tell them the make and model and then find replacement/upgrade parts?

Any suggestions and advice are always welcome.

Power Max PM3 55. Disable the original one and install this one near the batteries.

You must add 6 volt batteries in pairs. Two are wired in series to create a 12 volt battery bank.

Then that pair are wired in parallel to another pair keeping it a 12 volt system.

Adding any new batteries to ones that are 1 year or more old, is not recommended.

I will picking her up next week. I am buying it from the son-in -law as they passed away after owning it for 10 years. I know it has 2 6V house batteries and they are probably old. He doesn't have records of this RV.

I want to add enough battery, inverter, and portable solar to be able to run a few AC appliances without having to run the generator to be able to do so.

I appreciate your time and I am really excited about starting this whole new adventure and any thanks for your thoughts.

...and can I use that even though my RV is a 30 amp?

Sure you can, that's what I've been using for 4 years on my 30 amp MH.

4, 6 volt batteries wired in series- parallel, connected to a 2000 watt, pure sine wave inverter will give you enough power to run a microwave or coffee maker and a few other appliances.

I am not sure I have the space to add two more 6V. I believe the 2 6V are under the steps. I don't think there is room for two more there, but I understand and like your plan.
